Sweet and Simple Wedding Lifesavers

┬áBelow are a few items that you didn’t know you needed aside from your standard wedding Emergency/Survival Kit:

1.) Coconut Water & Snacks – my favorite is made by Vita Coco, it is an all natural, super hydrating product that is NEVER from concentrate. It says it right there on the bottle. čśë Coconut water is filled with natural electrolytes that will give you an extra kick of hydration and energy keeping you sane, calm and having fun on your big day!

2.) Flip Flops, Flats or Toms

(Tom’s has come out with a fun and funky wedding collection – check it out HERE!!┬á– these are great to wear for the full day or just post ceremony to save your feet!)

3.) Straws – there are so many options out there that I’m sure you will be able to find some that match your colors or tie into your theme. Check out these awesome birch straws from┬áAnthropologie┬áthat would go perfectly with a rustic chic or outdoorsy wedding!

4.) Lip stain

You will be kissing and drinking all night! Lip stain lasts longer than gloss or lipstick and doesn’t have the extra stickiness! If you’re not sure what kind to get, head on over to Sephora to take a look around.

5.) White Out

To quickly fix any stains or small spills on your dress!

6.) Pins!!!

 Bobby, Safety & Clothes.

7.) Clear Nail Polish

This will save you if you have a small dress tear, if Aunt Gloria has a nylon rip or if you have a nail malfunction!

8.) A “Must Have” Photo List

Although you will meet with your photographer prior to your wedding to discuss style and necessary shots, having a list of group shots that you want is always helpful to have. Also, remember that your photographer doesn’t know your family so assigning a friend or family member to coordinate the troops will save a lot of time and stress for the photographer!

9.) Sand Paper

For the bottom of those slippery shoes! Have you ever watched the episode of Friends where Chandler and Monica get married? Season 7, Episode 25 – watch it.

10.) Batteries – you NEVER know.

Set Yourself Up For Success

If you fail to plan, you can plan to fail! Harsh? Maybe, but it happens too often not to address! Let me help you set yourself up for success by following my tips below:

Set Your Goals

Goals

Sunday is a great day to take a few minutes and figure out what your goals and intentions are for the upcoming week. Look at your larger long term goals and set smaller weekly steps to work towards them. No matter what you want to accomplish it is SO important to write it down. Whether those goals include planning your wedding, your career, your relationship, health or are hobby related, write them in a place where you know that they will be visible and as a bold daily reminder to you.

Prepare Your Food

Figure out a few options for healthy meals, prepare a shopping list and head to the store! When you return, prep and cut all of your fruit and veggies. Having pre-cut produce makes for a great on-the-go healthy snack.  Also, take the time to grill/bake/cook chicken (or another protein) and prepare a few large salads. This will be a huge time saver through out the week, your healthy lunches (or dinners) will be prepped and ready to go saving you time and healthy eating excuses. Plan for success and stay on track!

Schedule Your Workouts

Set weekly workout goals for yourself and schedule your gym time, classes and cardio exercise into your calendar. Writing these workouts into your schedule ahead of time will hold you accountable and eliminate time excuses. Plan ahead, schedule the time and workout because you love your body – it’s the only place you have to live, so take care of it!!

Restore Your Mind – YOU time

Take at least 30 minutes and shut off all electronics and gadgets, go for a solo walk or run, do yoga or just sit quietly. Try to focus your energy and mind on positive thoughts and a restorative outlook. Rather than focusing on negatives (which we all tend to do), remind yourself of all that your are thankful for and everything amazing going on in your life. Remember that your thoughts in the morning set the tone for your entire day, so set the intention to wake up every morning with a confident mindset and joyful heart.

Engagement Photo Tips!

A few engagement session tips for the soon to be bride & groom:

1.) Wear flattering colors and clothes that make you feel comfortable.

2.) Choose a unique location that reflects your personality and style.

3.) If you choose to use props, make sure that they coincide with your “theme” and your relationship.

4.) Communicate your vision and connect well with your photographer. The more they get to know you, the better they will capture your relationship.

5.) Have fun with it! Try to forget that the camera is there and focus on your genuine love for one another. :)

5 Wedding Weight Loss Tips

1.) Stay hydrated

Hunger is often confused for thirst. Try drinking at least half of your body weight in ounces of water every day. For example, a 130lb woman should be drinking 65 ounces of water daily.

2.) Avoid refined sugar, fried & processed foods

3.) Plan ahead

Set yourself up for success. Plan your weekly workouts and nutrition in advance! You will be 10 times more likely to stick with it if it’s planned out.

4.) HIIT workouts

High Intensity Interval Training!!! They are fat burning, efficient workouts that get you burning calories for up to 24 hours after you’re done. Wouldn’t you rather do 30 minutes of intensive intervals and get faster results than if you were to spend a boring hour on the treadmill?!

5.) Get more sleep

A good nights sleep is more beneficial than you would think. Getting in a solid 8 hours a night will help your concentration, mood swings, food cravings, athletic performance, metabolism and stress levels.

Friday Cardio

Hi Ladies! Who fit in their Friday cardio to kick start the weekend?

Try to get in an hour today and keep sweating for your wedding!! If possible, try to avoid the monotonous treadmill and make it fun! Head outside for a hike with your bridesmaids, a bike ride, swim or try something new like a kickboxing class.

Attending a wedding this year? Let’s talk etiquette.

Are you a bride? Bridesmaid? Or attending a wedding this year?

Weddings are a great place to catch up with friends, spend time with family or meet that special someone. Whether you are the bride to be, a bridesmaid or a guest, a wedding a is an event where you want to dress to impress and look your absolute best.

Whether the wedding is 3 months away or not until the end of the year, the sooner you start eating right, working out and taking care of yourself, the better you will look and feel.

Basic Wedding Etiquette

1.) Unless you’re the bride, DO NOT wear white.

Although many traditions are being thrown out the window with modern weddings, this is not one of them.

2.) Dress to impress, NOT to compete.

It’s important to dress how the invitation suggests. No skimpy clothing. There are plenty of elegant, classic styles to show off your new beach-ready bod!

3.) RSVP in a timely manner.

If you’re going, let them know so they can plan accordingly. If not, kindly decline and send a thoughtful gift.

4.) Be on time!!

Weddings do NOT all start late. Show up on time, be respectful of the ceremony and everyone involved.

5.) Be present, don’t hide behind your phone!

The couple invited you to spend time with you and enjoy your company. Do yourself a favor and put your phone away for the evening, be present and enjoy yourself.
